Nick Butcher is an Emmy and Olivier Award nominated songwriter & producer and was named as a Rising Star in The Stage 100.
Nick is best known for writing the West End smash hit musical The Little Big Things (Winner of an Olivier Award and WhatsOnStage Award) which opened in the West End’s newest theatre @SohoPlace.
Nick received an Olivier Award nomination and a Stage Debut Award nomination for Best Music, Lyrics or Book Writer of a Musical.
He produced The Little Big Things (Original West End Cast Recording) which went straight to #1 on the iTunes Soundtrack Charts and was performed on both The Royal Variety Performance and The Olivier Awards at The Royal Albert Hall broadcast live on ITV.
Nick was honoured with an Emmy Award nomination for Best Original Song for Tornado, a song written for Netflix Animation.
Nick co-produced the song Best Day of Our Lives with multi-award-winning producer and songwriter Steve Mac, featured on Made in Korea: The K-Pop Experience (Original TV Soundtrack) for SM Entertainment and the BBC, which debuted at #1 on the Official UK Soundtrack Charts.
Nick is a recipient of the Goodspeed Writers Grove and the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project residency and his songs can be heard on the radio including BBC Radio 1 & Radio 2.
Projects in development include writing story and songs for a feature length musical animation, adapting an Emmy Award winning film for the stage and producing the soundtrack for an upcoming live action musical film. Earlier in his career, Nick appeared in five prominent West End musicals and performed at leading regional theatres across the U.K.
